Handbags and lipstick

Ava loves to help me put on makeup in the mornings. She is always so cute about it and sticks her face really close to mine when she wants some of what I'm using. Her favorites are the lips and my big powder brush. She's had a rough week of injuries (has a HUGE purple bruise on her cheek from falling into the rocking chair) so we went to Target to get her a set of her own...all plastic of course. She LOVES it! The set came with a mirror compact, lipstick, glasses, keys, a wallet with credit card, and a really cute purse. Well...the purse has gone everywhere since. She puts it on her shoulder while she rides in the shopping cart; even at 6:30 when we went to Albertson's to get Shaun some Father's Day donuts today. Check her out, a girl after my own heart!

Pinwheels ~ Ava's favorite thing in the world

Ava love love loves pinwheels!  Everytime she sees them at the grocery store she gets so excited and starts blowing in the shopping cart.  Lucky for me, they are usually only $1. We found these cute ones at Target and decided to stick them in the ugly dirt patch in our yard so Ava can see them from the window.  I think I will go to Hobby Lobby and surprise her with a GIANT one for the same spot. I'm sure Shaun and the neighbors will just love that.  :)

We've been having so much fun with the kids back from Maui for the summer. The twins are so sweet with the little girls :)

Ava got a booster!

Ava has been climbing on everything lately.  Today I watched her climb onto the window seat in the dining room and then stretch out a leg to get onto her highchair!!  And she did it multiple times.  I'm thinking it may be time to put the highchair away so she won't get hurt on it.  We went to BabiesRUs and got a little booster seat that straps onto the kitchen chairs instead.  She seems to like it, so here's hoping! 

Aunt Becky brought a package of stick-on moustaches over as well...  :)

Swimming Pool!

Ava got her very own swimming pool today! Shaun filled it up with the hose and we waited for it to get warm. We got impatient and boiled a few pots of water to mix in so we could all play. Ava LOVED it! She would climb in and sit for a few minutes, splashing with some toys, then she would climb out and run a lap across the yard and jump back in. This went on for a good 30 minutes; in then out. As soon as I got her changed into warm, dry clothes she crashed out for a second nap. We are loving the start to summer :)

Weekend Wrap-Up

We spent the weekend in Idaho Falls for a short visit and are still recovering from the constant go-go-going we do there! Ava was such a good girl, considering how tired she was after taking such wimpy naps the whole time. She got to order her very own plate at iHop and decided it is totally awesome to dip her finger in the whipped cream on Mom's coffee. She had a great time playing with the cousins and everyone!

Finger-Painting

This evening we got a little messy and Ava painted a thank-you picture for Isaiah and a few paintings to hang in her bedroom. It was a lot of fun and a made a huge mess, but we loved every second. In true Ava style, a little blue paint was even tasted. Awesome, can't wait for that diaper. Not. I think more paint ended up on the highchair tray than on the paper, but that's half the fun of it, right?!
