Yesterday was jam-packed with art projects for Ava. First she started off with some finger painting on a wooden board so she can have it in her room. After dinner we all sat down to decorate a halloween gingerbread house. I didn't have many expectations for it, just a lot of sticky mess, but Ava loved it. She had a hard time getting the heavy jelly beans to stick to the house, but Shaun put frosting on the cardboard and she piled on the candies (ate a lot too, but also piled)! What I didn't expect was how serious Shaun was about the project. I didn't realize that he had NEVER made a gingerbread house before, even graham cracker ones. Needless to say he'll have another go at it come Christmas time :) And please don't mind Ava's messy hair. Sometimes I just don't stand a chance with it.
