Ava's obsessed

With babydolls!!  She ALWAYS has one in her hands.  She feeds them (often from her own plate), burps them (see 2nd photo from bottom) and insists on bringing them with her in the car and in the store.  She absolutely loves her babies.  When we pass babies in a store she screams "BEEEE!!"  She calls them Bee.  It is so cute to watch her with them, she is so sweet.  Sometimes she tries to dress her babies in her own clothes even.  Santa is going to bring her a doll sized stoller so she can take them for walks too.  This girl probably has 4 different baby bottles and at least 5 dolls.  It is a big deal around here :)

October Happenings

Yesterday was jam-packed with art projects for Ava.  First she started off with some finger painting on a wooden board so she can have it in her room.  After dinner we all sat down to decorate a halloween gingerbread house.  I didn't have many expectations for it, just a lot of sticky mess, but Ava loved it.  She had a hard time getting the heavy jelly beans to stick to the house, but Shaun put frosting on the cardboard and she piled on the candies (ate a lot too, but also piled)! What I didn't expect was how serious Shaun was about the project.  I didn't realize that he had NEVER made a gingerbread house before, even graham cracker ones.  Needless to say he'll have another go at it come Christmas time :)  And please don't mind Ava's messy hair.  Sometimes I just don't stand a chance with it.

Little golfer...?

Shaun took Ava with him to run a few errands this morning and they came back with this...a plastic golf set. I can just see the injuries already. She loves it though! She pulls the little cart around behind her and is sitting on the couch with the clubs on her lap. Oh boy...

Splash Park

On Saturday Shaun had to work, so Uncle Will and I took Ava to a splash park to play. It was over 100 degrees and hotter than hot. She had a great time after she warmed up to the idea of letting water spray her in the face. Such a fun thing for little ones!!

July 4th

We took Ava to the Liberty Day Parade in downtown Boise this year. It was...lets just call it "lack-luster". There were no schools, no bands, no dance groups, nothing more than political cars and some military floats (which Ava clapped for so sweetly). There were a few firetrucks, but not much more. Ava made it through the entire parade though!! Then she took almost a 3 hour nap before waking up to play in her swimming pool. We wanted to take her to the firework show, but she was entirely too tired and was tucked into bed by 8:15 without a peep until morning.

Ava got her pics taken

We took Ava to Sears to get her pictures taken on Sunday. The girl was pretty inexperienced and a lot of the photos show the edge of the backdrop, but there are still some really cute ones! Lucky for us, we got a great deal on Groupon.com

Handbags and lipstick

Ava loves to help me put on makeup in the mornings. She is always so cute about it and sticks her face really close to mine when she wants some of what I'm using. Her favorites are the lips and my big powder brush. She's had a rough week of injuries (has a HUGE purple bruise on her cheek from falling into the rocking chair) so we went to Target to get her a set of her own...all plastic of course. She LOVES it! The set came with a mirror compact, lipstick, glasses, keys, a wallet with credit card, and a really cute purse. Well...the purse has gone everywhere since. She puts it on her shoulder while she rides in the shopping cart; even at 6:30 when we went to Albertson's to get Shaun some Father's Day donuts today. Check her out, a girl after my own heart!
